It’s been nearly 8 months since Ice Cream Sandwich was released, yet the OS must be setting some kind of record as the slowest rollout in the history of tech. Alas, it continues to make its painfully slow ascent up the Android mountain and, according to the most recent developer figures, Google’s Android 4.0 has reached a 7.1 percent distribution level, which is actually markedly higher than the2.9 percent in April. Currently, Gingerbread accounts for 65 percent of Android devices on the market, up from almost 64 percent in April as well, while Honeycomb is close to the 3 percent mark. Not to worry, as both the Galaxy S II for T-Mobile and XOOM 4G LTE for Verizon are getting ICS upgrades in June. Oh, and the EVO 4G LTE is finally available, which comes with Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.
